ABOUT THIS JOB

Starting pay between $28 and $34 per hour, based upon your experience, with twice yearly reviews with raises for high quality work, good attitudes, and work ethic. With great work, you can grow your pay quickly. In addition to the hourly rate, we also offer per diem for road jobs and year-end bonuses are typical. We are considering candidates that fit our Fabrication I, II, & III jobs which are based upon experience, abilities and knowledge.

As a Fabricator, you will help bring our projects to life. Your job entails taking a conceptual design and turning it into a functioning piece of equipment or equipment component. In addition, you’ll work on customer’s existing processing equipment or new equipment installations.

This position is mainly in Oregon, but jobs occasionally (2-4 times per year) arise in Washington and Idaho that require travel/overnight stays. When traveling, per diem is offered in addition to regular and overtime pay. Weekends are not typical, but occasionally arise during high season and road jobs.

The ideal candidate will work hard, have a great sense of humor, and be willing to learn.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Use welding abilities to work on projects in a group or individual setting.
  • Fabricate and construct components for agricultural and industrial processing equipment lines.
  • Grinding and finishing completed products.
  • Take accurate measurements to ensure proper cuts and bends.
  • Quality check completed products.
  • Maneuver fabrication machines, such as grinders, drill presses, and flame cutters to cut, bend, grind and adjust materials.
  • Adhere to company and state safety regulations.
  • Read and interpret drawings to create a finished product.
  • Travel is required in this position. We typically have 2-4 jobs per year that require out of state work. These jobs usually last 1-2 weeks. If the job last longer than two weeks, we rotate crews, so our guys are not away from home longer than two weeks. During these trips, per diem is paid in addition to regular and overtime rates.
  • Although not typical, weekend work can occasionally arise. Must be willing to work occasional weekends if needed.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work areas will vary depending upon the work you are currently performing. When fabricating, you’ll be working inside a warehouse with higher noise levels, or outside with varying climate and noise levels.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • The desire to have a job that challenges experiences and abilities, grows your knowledge base and is never the same. Our guys comment that the best part of this job is that it is not monotonous.
  • Welding/fabricating background with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
  • Experience with processing equipment, some of which is specific to agriculture, is ideal but not necessary.
  • Willingness to learn about processing equipment to achieve desired goals.
  • Ability to take accurate measurements and make cuts consistently and effectively.
  • Ability to read and understand CAD drawings, then implement the concept.
  • Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good-time management, problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills.
  • You’ll need to be forklift certified to move equipment from one point to another. We can assist with getting certified if needed.
  • Ability to remain flexible, to adapt to changes made by the customer and design work.
  • Work accurately with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality as many projects are under customer nondisclosure Agreements.
  • Ability to work with co-workers and customers professionally and tactfully.
  • Have a good sense of humor. Our team gets along great so this a must.
  • Possess a work ethic that includes neatness, punctuality, accuracy, and abiding by workplace rules and safety regulations.
  • The ability to be climb equipment without the fear of heights.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. 3 years minimum fabrication experience.
  2. Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent.
  3. Successful completion of high school-level mathematics to calculate figures and amounts.
  4. Successful completion of high school-level English grammar to communicate effectively.
  5. Requires the availability to work Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm or 3:00pm with occasional overtime.
  6. Must achieve work at a high level of accuracy and ability.
  7. Punctual to work and meetings.
  8. Valid Driver’s License.
  9. Good sense of humor.
  10. Ability to work well on your own and with others.

Benefits/Pay

Pay starting between $28 and $34 per hour and based upon your experience. Twice a year we hold reviews, with pay increases for high quality work, good attitudes and work ethic. Pay can increase quickly with hard/accurate work and a good attitude. Per diem for road work.
